It's officially Empty Bowls week!

The Caring Youth Awards celebrate youth who have a positive impact in our community. The award is sponsored by the cities of Golden Valley, Hopkins, and Minnetonka; the Hopkins and Minnetonka school districts; and the Glen Lake Optimists.

We recently received a thank you note from Brandon*, a young dad we recently helped with rent and food assistance. Prior to the pandemic, Brandon had a great job and was able to care for himself and his daughter who has special needs. But he was laid off this spring, and even with unemployment, he wasn't able to cover both bills and rent once the additional funds expired in July.

As the calendar year comes to a close, many people sit down to take the important and meaningful step to make contributions to nonprofit and charitable organizations. With an eye to doing the most good and making the greatest impact, there are tax benefits and implications that need to be considered.

Since 2009, generous folks from all over Minnesota have gathered their resources and their hearts to make a BIG impact in one special day in November. It might have something to do with our famous “Minnesota Nice,” but it’s really a lifetime of generosity, kindness, and care in our great state.

As we remain focused on and committed to our local community, we are also coming together to support the impacted neighborhoods of South Minneapolis, North Minneapolis, and the Midtown/Lake Street area.

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Daniel Narr as our new Executive Director. Dan will be succeeding Peg Keenan who is set to retire in August 2020.
