The Metropolitan Council Housing and Redevelopment Authority (Metro HRA) will be accepting online applications for the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program. ONLINE APPLICATIONS WILL BE AVAILABLE: 9:00 AM WEDNESDAY, JUNE 22, 2022 through 12:00 PM (noon) TUESDAY, JUNE 28, 2022 Apply any time during the open period – applications must be submitted online by 12:00 PM (noon) on Tuesday, June 28, 2022. There is no advantage to applying early. To complete the applications (24 hours a day during the noted time), please visit: www.WaitlistCheck.com/METRO. The Metro HRA will place 2,000 applicants on the waiting list through a random drawing from all applications received. The Metro HRA will award 95% of waiting list placements to applicants who live, work, or attend school full-time in the seven-county, Twin Cities metro area (Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott, and Washington counties). The remaining 5% of waiting list placements will be awarded to any other applicants. The Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program provides rental assistance to households with very low incomes. The qualifying, annual gross household income cannot exceed: HOUSEHOLD SIZE INCOME LIMIT 1 $41,100 2 $46,950 3 $52,800 4 $58,650 5 $63,350 6 $68,050 7 $72,750 8 $77,450 Applicants may use any computer, tablet, or smartphone to apply, including free computers at public libraries and at community sites throughout the region. Applicants needing a reasonable accommodation, free language assistance, or who require this information in an alternative format are encouraged to submit a request to the Metro HRA in advance of the waiting list opening.
