Health Across the Lifespan Series: Principles of Parenting

Parenting skills are something we learn, not something we are born with. Being a connected and effective parent or caretaker is possible for everyone! Principles of Parenting is an educational session that will help you explore ways to be more engaged, present, and connected through play.

This presentation is intended for parents and caregivers of kids from toddlers to teens and will explore the P.E.A.C.E. process as researched and written by Dr. Daniel Siegel, M.D. including the concepts of:

  • Presence

  • Empathy

  • Affection

  • Calm Communication

  • Explore options together.

Merri Guggisberg is a Certified Parenting Coach and Educator. As founder of MKG Parent Coach, she has more than 20 years experience educating and thriving alongside parents and children in faith and school communities. Merri helps parents nurture connections with their loved ones and provide empowering strategies for a peaceful and loving home.
